Her Story

Bridget was born in Silver Spring, Maryland on February 13, 1986. She lived in Rockville, Maryland through 6th grade. Then, in the summer of 1998, the Heyden family moved to their new home in Carroll County, Maryland. Bridget attended Oklahoma Road Middle School for 7th and 8th grade. That is where she met her future husband. After middle school, Bridget attended the Seton Keough High School in Baltimore, Maryland. She recently graduated from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology with a concentration in Family and Consumer Science Education. She currently teaches at Francis Scott Key High School .

His Story

Stephen Santmyer was born on February 5, 1986 in Baltimore, Maryland. (No that is not a typo! Stephen is really 8 days older than Bridget!) He grew up in Carroll County. After meeting Bridget in middle school, Stephen attended Liberty High School in Eldersburg, Maryland. While in high school, Stephen played lacrosse, and ran cross-country. Stephen is a recent graduate of Salisbury University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He currently works for Enterprise.

Our Story

Steve and I first met in the fall of 1998. We were in Mrs. Tweedle's 7th grade homeroom together. After middle school I went to Seton Keough and Steve went to Liberty. Shortly after my high school graduation, I was re-introduced to Steve by our mutual friend Dave at a party. It was love at first sight and we've been together ever since.
