Update on Emily

Its hard to believe that its been over a month since we brought our chocolate labrador home. This past month, Emily has brought so much joy into our home. She is that missing piece to our puzzle. Our hearts feel and full and complete.

We have learned that Emily is very smart and very eager to please. We take her to the Emmitsburg park across the street and does very well off leash.

After much research, I recently started Emily on a raw diet. The next few weeks we are just starting her off with chicken to see how she does. So far so good. No problems what so ever and if I get the meat on sale, it actually ends up being cheaper than the innova food we normally get. So we will see how it goes.
Last weekend steve and I took Emily to the dog park for the first time. The dog park is located in frederick in baker park. Next time I go I will take pictures so you can see for yourself! Great place to take engagement pictures. Emily did really well with the other dogs. She spent more time getting loved by all the humans than she did hanging with the dogs. We hope that will change over time. Either way, everyone loved her, human or canine.

The only bigthing we are working on is swimming. Its awfully embarrassing to own a labrador who hates getting wet. Were hoping she just needs to see another dog swim and shell get the hang of it because if she really does hate to swim, I would be so broken hearted. I'm sure shell get it. Just needs a buddy to help her out.

We also got emily registered with the akc. We only did this so she can take classes and pass her canine good citizen test and then eventually become a certified therapy dog. If she enjoys it of couurse.
